Vijay Deverakonda Clarifies Stance on Working with Debutant Directors

During yesterday’s press meet, Vijay Deverakonda addressed recent remarks made in a previous interview regarding his stance on collaborating with debutant directors. Clarifying his statement, he emphasized the importance of supporting new talent while also prioritizing informed decisions for his projects.

Deverakonda stated, “Who will work with debutant actors if I lock debutant directors for my projects? New actors need them, and I am open to collaborating with them after a film, regardless of its box office performance.” He underscored the significance of understanding a director’s vision and expertise before committing to a project, particularly considering the substantial budgets of his films.

He added, “Hence, I mentioned that I prefer directors with at least one movie under their belt, provided the script is compelling.” This clarification sheds light on Deverakonda’s approach to selecting directors for his projects.
