The trailer of upcoming film V was finally released on Wednesday. The film has an ensemble star cast led by Nani. Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jagapathi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Nassar among others have played pivotal roles in V, which is directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti.
Judging by the trailer, Nani plays a violent man who kills with zero guilt. He has become a nightmare for the police department. And an extremely shredded cop, played by Sudheer Babu, takes up the challenge to stop the reign of terror unleashed by V. Does V stand for violence?
The trailer even hints that Nani’s anti-hero could be a “psycho killer”, who is hungry for “attention.” However, he could simply be a vigilante, who is taking out people who he thinks are bad for society. V may also stand for vendetta? Or it could simply be an age-old revenge drama.
V is bound to bring in a whiff of fresh air into the mainstream entertainment space in the south, which has grown stale over the last six months.
V is a landmark film in Nani’s filmography as it is his 25th movie in a career spanning about 12 years. And, arguably, it is the first big-budget south Indian movie to release digitally since the lockdown.
V is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from September 5.
