In a recent revelation, Prithviraj Sukumaran unveiled a fascinating tale regarding his connection to Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ambitious project, “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.” Speaking during the Telugu promotions of his film “The Goat Life,” Sukumaran shared intriguing details about his encounter with Chiranjeevi and the missed opportunity to collaborate.

Prithviraj disclosed, “In 2017 or 2018, Chiranjeevi sir approached me through Suhasini Mam, wife of renowned filmmaker Mani Rathnam, to play a significant role in ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.’ It was a flattering moment for me as Chiru sir considered me for such a pivotal role in his project, akin to receiving a prestigious certificate.”

Expressing regret, Prithviraj explained, “Although I was eager to be a part of it, my commitments to ‘The Goat Life’ hindered my involvement in ‘Sye Raa.’ When I conveyed this to Chiru sir, he was understanding and gracious about it.”

The narrative took an unexpected turn as Sukumaran transitioned from actor to director, achieving success with his directorial debut, “Lucifer.” He revealed, “Chiranjeevi sir acquired the Telugu rights for ‘Lucifer’ and invited me as the chief guest for the Kerala event of ‘Sye Raa.’ Subsequently, his team approached me to direct the Telugu version of ‘Lucifer.’ Although intrigued, my ongoing dedication to ‘The Goat Life’ prevented me from accepting the offer.”

Sukumaran reminisced about his interaction with Chiranjeevi, stating, “Chiru sir, being the kind soul he is, occasionally messages me, as does Ram Charan. Despite missing out on opportunities, I remain hopeful for a collaboration with him in the future.”

The revelation sheds light on the camaraderie between two stalwarts of Indian cinema and the intricate dynamics of the film industry.
