Anil Kapoor files suit in Delhi HC to safeguard his personality rights, including his name and voice

null

The Delhi High Court upheld Anil Kapoor’s name, initials, photograph, voice, and other personal characteristics on September 20. The Justice Prathiba M. Singh panel heard the case.

Why does this matter?

To use the actor’s name, voice, or even screen names like Mr. India, Lakhan, etc., you must first get their consent. Failure to comply with this could have negative legal or other effects.

Using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, all of which are likely to breach the veteran actor’s rights.

The Bollywood actor had already petitioned the Delhi High Court to have his name, voice, signature, and image rights protected from infringement on social media and other platforms. As per the ANI report, he had previously filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court seeking a permanent injunction barring people in general from violating his personality rights by using his name, voice, signature, image, or any other characteristic that makes him uniquely identifiable for any monetary gain without his permission.
